The term marketing means different things to different people. Many think of marketing as merely selling or advertising. Yes, both selling and advertising are part of marketing, but it's much more. The American Marketing Association has defined marketing as the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society. We can also think of marketing, more simply, as the activities buyers and sellers perform to facilitate mutually satisfying exchanges.
