There is good stress, there is bad stress, and then there is just stress. Not handling stress can lead to very negative effects on our bodies, our minds, and our overall well-being. Enrolling in college is a very exciting time that can bring all of the above types of stress. Learning how to manage stress will be a key factor to ensuring a rewarding and successful college experience. This fun and interactive vignette will discuss the impacts of stress, the causes of stress, and perhaps most importantly, some very practical strategies for handling the unavoidable stress that accompanies beginning college or returning to college.
